Help us - Fundraising and Donations
The Family Help Trust cannot continue to fight the cycle of child abuse, violence, poverty, state-dependency and crime without the financial support of donors.
We appreciate the generosity of the companies, charities, organisations and individuals who make our work possible: Thank you. [ View the list of sponsors ] Your involvement gives families fresh hope and our community a chance to see what can be achieved when we fight crime and abusive parenting at its roots.
The Family Help Trust receives no central government funding, though it has been generously supported by the Christchurch City Council's social initiatives unit for the past five years.
Our goals of expansion to provide more services to more children are currently restricted by insufficient funding, as both services rely totally on the generosity of charitable trusts, businesses and individuals.
We welcome inquiries from any people or organisations about funding, donations, or other assistance in our work. You may wish to join our 500 Club. Please contact us directly, or go to our Contact form.
Make a donation
We welcome donations to help us in our work. To make this as easy as possible for you, this website provides several mechanisms for doing this:
- Cash/cheque: You could fill in and submit this form, and send the cash or cheque payment, with a explanatory note, to Family Help Trust, PO Box 22126, Christchurch
- Online payment: We provide a secure online form allowing payment by credit card
- Bank transfer: If you wish to make a donation directly by bank transfer, our bank account number is 031700 0087690 02. Please write DONATION as a reference note so we know what the deposit relates to.
While you are welcome to make anonymous donations, we would really like to be able to thank you, so an identifying name and contact address would be helpful.
The 500 Club
The Family Help Trust has established the 500 Club, recognising people and organisations who donate $500 or more to the Trust, preferably for a three-year commitment. For more details and current list of members, click here.

Share Your Love
Share Your Love is a new and easy way to make a positive difference. Changes to tax incentives around charitable donations, scheduled to come into effect in 2010, will make it easier for wage and salary earners to help the Family Help Trust, which recently introduced a new payroll giving programme, called ‘Share Your Love.’
Payroll giving programmes are increasingly popular in Europe and the United States, where 35 percent of wage and salary earners automatically contribute to charity every payday. Employees make a small but regular donation. If enough employees commit to this, between them they will quickly provide enough to enable the Family Help Trust to make a real difference on their behalf.
An employer with 25 staff on the payroll, each donating the price of a cup of coffee per week, would enable the Family Help Trust to support an additional family, helping release them from the cycle offamily violence and social deprivation. For more information about ‘Share Your Love,’ contact the FamilyHelp Trust.
YourFastShop sponsorship
An online shopping venture, YourFastShop, has accepted Family Help Trust's application for fundraising sponsorship through consumers buying from their virtual store. Now any consumer can purchase good deals at the store and a proportion of the sale price will go to Family Help Trust.
It works in one of two ways:
1. Go directly to www.yourfastshop.co.nz/familyhelptrust (by clicking on this link) and select from the list of product categories down the left column. All items offered here provide a percentage of sales to us. You can also click on the "A-Z Retailers" link in the second paragraph to see which retailers are supporting us and what percentage of sale prices they are offering.
2. Go directly to the home page, www.yourfastshop.co.nz, scroll down the page to the heading "To Shop now" (in the middle column of text), click on "Search", find the Family Help Trust entry, and click on the link following it ("Go to the FastShop Now").
