Family Help Trust Staff Vacancies


Expressions of interest are invited to assist in the provision of supervision, clinical oversight and professional development of social workers at Family Help Trust. This is a part-time position of 16 hours per week and a fixed term contract for two years. The successful applicant would be an employee of Family Help Trust.

Background: Currently, supervision of all the social work staff is provided by the Practice Manager who also has a number of other management responsibilities. Because of the Practice Manager’s involvement in a major strategic initiative being implemented over the next two years, we successfully sought some additional funding to provide assistance in the clinical oversight and supervision of designated members of the social work team for that period of time.

Our requirements:

  •  Applicants must be able to provide 16 hours of service provision to Family Help Trust on a regular weekly basis. The days and hours worked are negotiable but would need to take account of the availability of social workers. Experienced social workers receive fortnightly individual supervision of up to 1.5 hours and less experienced workers, weekly supervision.
  • We anticipate that the supervisor would supervise up to five social workers and provide oversight of their clinical practice. Four of the workers receive fortnightly supervision however there may be a greater time commitment for the worker delivering a parenting programme in the home as we look to strengthen this programme.
  • The supervisor would be required to be available to provide clinical guidance and oversight to those five workers as far as can be reasonably expected within the hours of the position.
  • Other responsibilities may include regular facilitation of group supervision and internal training opportunities (currently these take place on a Monday morning 11.00 – 12.00) and professional development support to the wider social work team.        
  • The supervisor would be required to work in with the Practice Manager in the overall provision of the social work service.
